www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,25016019-5006785,00.html A TEENAGER has been stabbed in the neck and arm during an apparent school fight.
The boy was taken to the Ballarat Base Hospital hospital by ambulance and has undergone surgery after the alleged attack at a school in Sebastopol, near Ballarat in Victoria, about 9am (AEDT) today.
Senior Sergeant David Hermit from Ballarat CIU said a 14-year-old boy would be charged with intentionally causing serious injury and other assault-related offences.
The injured boy was recovering well, Sen-Sgt Hermit said.
He had suffered stab wounds to his neck, upper arm and hand.
"You don't expect a school fight to result in these sort of injuries.
"The parents are distraught as well as are a lot of the witnesses who saw what went on."
Sen-Sgt Hermit said the boy in custody had been co-operative with police and a knife had been recovered from the crime scene.
A statement from Sebastopol College said the behaviour was out of character for students and the school.
Sebastopol College is a co-educational secondary college with about 1000 students.
"Counselling is available to any student or staff member who needs it and our welfare support team is on hand," the statement said.
There were no further details immediately available.my friend told me about this because he was one of the witnesses and he was just abut break up this fight but the 14 year old started stabbing this poor boy. this is seriously becomming a problem with young teenagers. theres shooting & stabbing over the littlest things. what are your thoughts on this?

it's really sad how high the level of violence is these days. everywhere are students (or even older people) going postal and so on... it's really scary, because you don't know, if you'll be there too.
