OMFG!!! ..well just tell him linkin park isn't just a phase that you can get over within a month. tell him they're REALLY special to you and you'll do whatever it takes to keep all of your LP stuff. i hope things work out for you

he should respect your right to like whatever you like, and do whatever to YOUR room. he has no right to take control with your life. he should let you go crazy over a band, its part of nature for most people to have a love for something in their lives, and for someone else to talke that away, its even harder to not like them.
my parents have been good enough to let me go though my obsessive phases such as Sailor Moon, The Spice Girls, 5ive, Pokemon, Winnie the Pooh, Harry Potter, Beyblade, Linkin Park, Final Fantasy 8 & 10, and now-a-days McFly and Twilight. its made me grow up a bit more to go through those phases with no intrutions[sp?].
ok this might not of made sence but.....hope it helped.

thanks for the replies at first i didnt know if this should be in the serious discussion but i had no idea where else to put it.... hehe
i haven't talked to my dad yet but when he doesn't mention anything , everything is fine, right? and i'm sure he will just say that i can be a fan without those things *sighs* but when the topic comes up i'll tell him why i don't want it all gone , and he CAN'T rip off even 1 poster cause... **chester voice**: "i notice everything!" anyways i forgot i have a lock on my door, i never use that thing so i can always lock my door and keep the key with me when i go away! ;D
(yea i always freak out first before i think XD )

If he's really serious about the throwing away part, take them down before he can, and store them, like, in display folders. Then you can look at them, and he'll never be able to know! Ha.

You can show him a picture of my room. Tell him I'm a mature 23 year old, future English teacher and that having my room covered with Linkin Park, The Beatles, The Doors, Nirvana and Elvis Presley things doesn't make me immature. And every day I get something new to hang on my walls hehehe.

Good luck. It's hard convincing parents of stuff like that sometimes. Hopefully if you talk to him....
